Ousei traduzir este incrível poema de Gary Snyder.

As for poets

The Earth Poets
Who write small poems,
Need help from no man.

The Air Poets
Play out the swiftest gales
And sometimes loll in the eddies.
Poem after poem,
Curling back on the same thrust.

At fifty below
Fuel oil won't flow
And propane stays in the tank.
Fire Poets
Burn at absolute zero
Fossil love pumped backup

The first
Water Poet
Stayed down six years.
He was covered with seaweed.
The life in his poem
Left millions of tiny
Different tracks
Criss-crossing through the mud.

With the Sun and Moon
In his belly,
The Space Poet
Sleeps.
No end to the sky-
But his poems,
Like wild geese,
Fly off the edge.

A Mind Poet
Stays in the house.
The house is empty
And it has no walls.
The poem
Is seen from all sides,
Everywhere,
At once.

Quanto aos Poetas

Os Poetas da Terra
Que escrevem poemas curtos,
Não necessitam da ajuda de ninguém.

Os Poetas do Ar
Divertem-se nos vendavais mais velozes
No meio de redemoinhos.
Poema após poema,
Giram no mesmo impulso,

A menos cinquenta graus
O óleo combustível não flui
E o propano permanece no tanque.
Poetas do Fogo
Ardem no zero absoluto
Amor fóssil restaurado.

O primeiro
Poeta da Água
Ficou seis anos submerso.
Coberto de algas marinhas.
A vida em seu poema
Deixou milhões de pegadas
Distintas e minúsculas
Entrelaçando-se na lama.

Com o sol e a lua
no ventre,
O Poeta do Espaço
Dorme.
O céu não tem fim –
Mas seus poemas,
Como gansos selvagens,
Voam  além dos limites.

Um Poeta da Mente
Permanece em casa.
A casa está vazia
E não tem paredes.
O poema
Pode ser visto de todos os lados,
Em todas as partes,
A qualquer momento.
